2 years later!

Wow, has it really been two years since my last post? Oh gosh, that's bad :) Well, I guess I better get busy filling you in on everything that has happened! I gave birth to my fourth and final child! Viktoria Ivana Joy Hoskins! Born on July 16th, 2011 at 7lbs 11oz and absolutely perfect in every way :) That evens the score for the Hoskins clan, two boys and two girls. I have decided beyond the shadow of a doubt that Viktoria is the last child that I will ever carry in my womb. However, Scot and I are certain that adoption is in our future. We are very excited about the possibility and look forward to pursuing this calling God has placed in our hearts.

Scot and I are still the youth leaders at our little church in Belding, MI. We have had some ups and downs over the last two years, both financially and spiritually, but God has brought us through it all. Earlier this year Scot started roofing again, something he hasn't done since we left Florida back in 2004. He enjoys working with his brother and being his own boss, and the extra money is great, but I do miss the period when he had more time to spend with the family. I know this is just another chapter, and neither of us expect or desire this large amount of work to continue. We feel that is only a temporary situation until our blueberry farm starts bringing in money. Oh, you heard right, we bought a blueberry farm!!!

My parents and I just bought a blueberry farm this month! I know, it's crazy! It's going to be one heck of an adventure! My parents, my brother and his wife, and Scot and I are all going to be managing the farm and working together. We all have different ideas and skills, and if we learn how to work together we will be the best blueberry farmers ever! :) I'm very excited, nervous, scared and overwhelmed. Overwhelmed because we are in the process of moving right now and my whole life is in utter chaos.

Two months ago I had no plans of moving at all, and now I only have two weeks left to get everything moved over. I'm happy about having more space in the new house, although I wish it had more bedrooms, especially if we are going to adopt four more kids ;) Yeah, moving is no fun. Luckily I have a husband who is very self-motivated. He is currently over at the new house switching out the dishwasher at 11:15pm. Like I said, very self-motivated :)

Lastly, and certainly not least-ly, at the end of 2010 our family began the adventure of homeschooling! Before we started, I was thinking I was going to be an expert since I was homeschooled and got to watch my mom homeschool my four younger siblings. How hard can it be to teach a kid that 2 + 2 equals 4? Ha! I had no idea what I was diving into. Needless to say my first year consisted mostly of me realizing I had no idea what I was doing. Ha, ha, ha! Then my second year consisted of me learning what works, and what doesn't work for me and the kids. During 2011 I was blessed to discover a local homeschool co-op where I found lots of support and much needed friendship. This year I will be homeschooling both of the boys and I know it's not going to be easy but I know God will give me the strength and wisdom I need as long as I keep Him at top of my priority list.

Well, it's getting late and I have another fun day of cleaning and packing waiting for me tomorrow. Can I get a sarcastic woop-woop? :-) Until next time (hopefully less than two years from now! :-)
